Crochet American Girl Ripple Blanket Matching Pillow
My daughter got a new American Girl Doll and asked me to make her a blanket and pillow. I’ve been meaning to make a ripple blanket for my bed so I figured it would be good practice to make a small one. It was fun to make and I love the color combination and not to mention but Saige the doll love it too 🙂
Materials Used:
Yarn: Red Heart Soft
Hook: I hook
ch 73
Rnd 1: dc in the 4th st from hook, 2 more dc in the same st, dc in the next 3 dc, dc3tog 2 times, 3dc in the next 2 sts, repeat until you get to the end put 3dc in the last st
Rnd 2: ch 3 turn, 2 more dc in the same st, dc in the next 3 dc, dc3tog 2 times, 3dc in the next 2 sts, repeat until you get to the end. Last st should have 3 dc.
Repeat Rnd 2 for as long as you want your blanket to be or if you are using multiple colors like I did then change color every 3 rows. I used 8 colors for this blanket.
HAPPY CROCHETING!
Note: When making a ripple blanket you use a multiple of 14+3 chains so let’s say you want to make it for a twin size bed or bigger bed take measurements of the bed and then calculate how many multiples of 14 you will need then add the 3 to that total.
For example if you are making a ch of 280 you will add 3 more 280+3
For the pillow I chained 28+3 and followed the same pattern as the blanket’s
