Crochet Big Ol’ Colorful Crochet Basket
I love using color so when I needed to make a basket to put random things in it, I pulled out some yarn and went to it. I used ten different colors of Red Heart Super Saver Yarn. Using two strands of yarn I came up with this big ol’ colorful crochet basket.
Materials Used: Red Heart Super Saver
Colors used: Soft Navy, Burgandy, Charcoal, Hot Red, Paddy Green, Shocking Pink, Blue, Pretty in Pink, Light Grey, and Lemon.
Hook: K (10 1/2)
This is how I use two strands from one skein of yarn. I pull from both ends.
Using soft navy, i started with the magic loop, ch 3, 11dc (12dc) close and sl st to top of ch 3.
Rnd 1: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, 2dc in every st, sl st to top of ch 3.
Rnd 2: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, *1dc in next ch, 2dc in the next ch*, repeat from * to * ending with 1dc in the last ch, sl st to top of ch 3.
Rnd 3: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, *1dc in next 2 chs, 2dc in the next ch*, repeat from * to * ending with 1dc in last 2 chs, sl st to top of ch 3.
Rnd 4: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, *1dc in next 3 chs, 2dc in the next ch*, repeat from * to * ending with 1dc in last 3 chs, sl st to top of ch 3.
Rnd 5: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, *1dc in next 4 chs, 2dc in the next ch*, repeat from * to * ending with 1dc in last 4 chs, sl st to top of ch 3.
Rnd 6: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, *1dc in next 5 chs, 2dc in the next ch*, repeat from * to * ending with 1dc in last 5 chs, sl st to top of ch 3.
Rnd 7: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, *1dc in next 6 chs, 2dc in the next ch*, repeat from *to * ending with 1dc in last 6 chs, sl st to top of ch 3.
Rnd 8: ch 3, dc in the back loop of every ch, sl st to top of ch 3.
Rnd 9-17: Chain 3, the chain 3 counts as 1st stitch, yarn over, insert the hook into the same stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through the stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through 2 loops on the hook, two loops remain on the hook, , Yarn over, insert the hook into the same stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through the stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through 2 loops on the hook, three loops remain on the hook, yarn over and pull through all loops on hook.
*chain 1, Yarn over, insert the hook into the next stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through the stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through 2 loops on the hook, two loops remain on the hook, , Yarn over, insert the hook into the same stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through the stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through 2 loops on the hook, three loops remain on the hook, , Yarn over, insert the hook into the same stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through the stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through 2 loops on the hook, four loops remain on the hook, yarn over and pull though all loops * repeat from * to * slip stitch to join into the top of the cluster stitch.
